What is the true cost of a “provider” who is never actually there? This soulful track explores the emotional hollow that forms when money is used as a substitute for quality time and genuine attention.
When I wrote these lyrics, I wanted to capture that specific loneliness of being in a house where everything is bought and paid for, yet the connection is missing. The line “the light bill was paid but in the corner of this house my spirit started to fade” is about the realization that you can’t light up a room with money if the person you love is emotionally absent.
