Have you ever noticed that some people only seem to be in your corner when you are struggling? This track is a direct confrontation for the “pocket watchers” and the fake friends who find your success harder to stomach than your failures.

When I wrote these lyrics, I wanted to explore the reality of “pocket watching” and the subtle ways people try to dim your light when you are finally shining. It’s about the peace that comes when you stop apologizing for your joy and start recognizing who is actually happy for you versus who is just keeping score.
